Jewel-Toned Pied-à-Terre — Old Town Alexandria, VA

Designed for long-standing clients as a Washington D.C.-area pied-à-terre, this Old Town Alexandria condo is a richly layered interior built around a love of colour, craft, and the art of collecting. The brief was to create a residence that felt genuinely personal and deeply luxurious — somewhere the clients would feel equally at home entertaining and retreating from the world.

The palette is unapologetically rich: jewel tones layered against warm gold accents that bring a quality of candlelit warmth to every room. Collectible Murano glass pieces anchor key moments throughout the apartment, their jewel-like quality echoing the colour palette and adding a note of European artisanal craft that is central to Elizabeth's design philosophy. Custom-painted murals provide atmosphere and depth, while silk rugs sourced in New York bring pattern and tactile luxury underfoot. The result is a classic, curated interior that rewards the longer look — a home as much about the pleasure of beautiful objects as it is about architecture or square footage.
