English-Style Bespoke Kitchen — Historic Farmhouse, Millbrook, NY

Designed for a restored 1880s farmhouse in Millbrook, New York, this bespoke English kitchen is a study in traditional craft and natural material. The brief was clear from the outset: a kitchen that felt as though it had always belonged to the house — rooted in its historic character, unpretentious in its beauty, and built to last another hundred years.

The cabinetry was designed and painted in a classic English style, with hand-chosen hardware and proportions that honour the farmhouse's original architecture. Countertops and flooring were cut from natural local stone, allowing the material to speak quietly for itself. The backsplash features hand-made zellige tile — its slight irregularities and depth of colour providing exactly the kind of artisanal warmth that machine-made finishes cannot replicate. The overall effect is one of effortless authenticity: a traditional kitchen that earns its place in a landmark home.

Services provided: full kitchen design, bespoke cabinetry specification, material sourcing, contractor coordination.
